Résumé

A computer package is described for optimising the design of energy-dispersive X-ray diffraction mineral phase analysers. An extensive database of relative analyser performances was created and a series of codes developed to search the database for the optimal design for any target minerals and specified design criteria. The advantage of the package is the speed and ease with which results can be obtained, obviating the need for running tailored Monte Carlo simulations or experiments for individual cases.
