Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P), a lipid mediator, regulates lymphocyte migration between lymphoid tissue and blood. Furthermore, S1P participates in several physiological phenomena including angiogenesis, inflammation, immune regulation, and neurotransmitter release.
