Sesamin is known to have various biological effects. Although several metabolites of sesamin have been identified, its metabolism by phase II enzymes remains unclear, because usually its sulfo- and glucurono-conjugates in plasma and urine are analyzed after sulfatase/β-glucuronidase treatment.
