Résumé

Periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) can be protracted, incapacitating, needing multiple interventions and could even lead to mortality. Early post-operative PJI has been ascribed to peri-operative introduction of highly virulent bacteria, while delayed post-operative to low-virulence bacteria.
