Attempts to trap the postulated silylene intermediates with common silylene trapping reagents (1-methoxy-1,3-butadiene and phenylacetylene) were not successful because these reagents reacted with the silene, so that the isomerization reaction did not take place. Reactions with various silanes (Et3SiH, (Me3Si)3SiH, tBuMe2SiH, tBu2MeSiH) also did not yield the expected silylene trapping products (for details see the Supporting Information).
