Health risk associated with drinking water has attracted increasing attention worldwide. Here, we conducted a survey on the main drinking water sources of Dalian in China to clarify the local human health risk associated with heavy metal and pesticide contaminants in the drinking water sources. The results showed that six heavy metals, namely, copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), cadmium (Cd), nickel (Ni), arsenic (As), and mercury (Hg), and two pesticides (atrazine and acetochlor) were detected in water samples, where the highest concentration of Hg (0.0621 μg L
