Phenolic extracts of aerial parts of Genista ferox have been characterized and evaluated for their pharmacological properties which are still not reported. The total phenol and flavonoid contents in the extracts were estimated spectrophotometrically via the Folin-Ciocalteu and aluminium chloride methods, respectively. Leaves and pods extracts showed the highest contents of total phenols and total flavonoids. The same extracts exhibited also the highest antioxidant capacity (IC
