Résumé

We present the case of a young adult with blunt lung trauma and acute respiratory distress syndrome requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) after a motor vehicle crash with a concomitant diaphyseal femur fracture who underwent reamed intramedullary nailing (IMN) while on ECMO support. This case is important because it demonstrates that reamed IMN of the femur has been performed safely in a critically ill patient on ECMO.
