Despite the proven superiority of the Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration (CKD-EPI) over the Cockcroft-Gault (CG) formula, current guidelines recommend the latter to assess renal function in patients treated with non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs).
