Here, using a sequence-independent sequencing approach (M. V. Phan, P. Hong Anh, N. Van Cuong, B. Oude Munnink, et al., Virus Evol 2:vew027, 2016, https://doi.org/10.1093/ve/vew027), we determined human astrovirus (HAstV) genome sequences from eight diarrheal stool samples collected in coastal Kenya in 2019.
