Cyclodextrins are widely used cyclic oligosaccharides of d-glucose whose hydrophilic exterior is covered by hydroxyl groups and whose hydrophobic interior is surrounded by lipophilic moieties. Because of this structural feature, cyclodextrin molecules commonly aggregate into dimensional structures
