The molecular pathways involved in the development of vulvar squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) cancer are not completely known. Nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT) is a cytosolic enzyme associated with tumorigenesis and metastasis in a variety of cancers. Its role in vulvar cancer has not been studied, previously. Vulvar SCC, high and low grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (SILs) and benign squamous hyperplasia were analysed immunohistochemically.
