[The role of tonsillectomy in the treatment of chronic tonsillitis].

The problem of chronic tonsillitis remains one of the urgent problems of modern otorhinolaryngology. The article discusses the statistics and complications of chronic tonsillitis, provides indications for tonsillectomy and its main complications. Generalization and systematization of data on the impact of surgical treatment on the quality of life of patients with chronic tonsillitis. Search for literary sources, carried out using the search engines of the RSCI, PubMed, Web of Science, and eLibrary. A review of literature sources demonstrates a significant improvement in the quality of life of patients after tonsillectomy; however, data from some studies show a trend towards a decrease in the number of planned tonsillectomies and an associated increase in the detection of local purulent-septic complications. Проблема хронического тонзиллита (ХТ) остается одной из актуальных проблем современной оториноларингологии. В статье рассмотрены статистика и осложнения ХТ, приведены показания к тонзиллэктомии (ТЭ) и основные ее осложнения. Обобщение и систематизация данных о влиянии ТЭ на качество жизни пациентов с ХТ. Поиск литературных источников при помощи поисковых механизмов РИНЦ, PubMed, Web of Science и eLibrary. Обзор литературных источников демонстрирует значимое повышение качества жизни пациентов после плановой ТЭ, способствующей снижению риска возникновения серьезных местных гнойно-септических осложнений (паратонзиллита, парафарингита и паратонзиллярного абсцесса) и, как следствие, экстренных операций, связанных с высокой вероятностью возникновения кровотечений как в интраоперационном, так и в послеоперационном периодах.
