Résumé

Facial trauma is a common occurrence; however, the first-line imaging tool, plain radiographs, has a low sensitivity in detecting facial bone fractures, leading to frequent misdiagnosis. We described the case of an old man who presented with right periorbital region pain and swelling noted after a fall. Through plain facial radiography, we identified a "black eyebrow sign," which is a pathological air collected in the superior aspect of the orbit, leading to the diagnosis of an occult orbital wall fracture. In this paper, we highlight the significance of recognizing the indirect signs and underscore the utility of utilizing Dolan or McGrigor's lines to facilitate physicians in promptly identifying occult orbital wall fractures.
