Anelloviruses (AVs) are ubiquitous in humans and are the most abundant components of the commensal virome. Previous studies on the diversity, transmission, and persistence of AVs mainly focused on the blood or transplanted tissues from adults; however, the profile of the anellome in the respiratory tract in children are barely known.
