Résumé

Vessels encapsulating tumor clusters (VETC) is a novel vascular pattern structurally and functionally distinct from microvascular invasion (MVI) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). This study aims to explore the prognostic value of VETC in patients receiving hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) for unresectable HCC. From January 2016 to December 2017, 145 patients receiving HAIC as the initial treatment for unresectable HCC were enrolled and stratified into two groups according to their VETC status. Overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), overall response rate (ORR), and disease control rate (DCR) were evaluated. The patients were divided into two groups: VETC VETC status correlates remarkably well with the tumor response and long-term survival in patients undergoing HAIC. It may be a promising efficacy predictor and help identify patients who will benefit from HAIC.
