In female rats and humans, reproductive experience (i.e., pregnancy) alters the behavioral, hormonal and molecular substrates of fear extinction. Here, we assessed whether the role of a central neural substrate of fear extinction, the basolateral amygdala (BLA), also changes following reproductive experience.
