Résumé

Through modulating effects on the gut-brain axis, probiotics are an effective adjuvant treatment for Alzheimer's disease (AD), one of our century's most important medical care challenges (Agahi et al. Front Neurol 9:662, 2018). This trial aimed to examine the effects of two different single-strain probiotics on oxidative stress and inflammation in patients with mild and moderate AD. This was a 12-week placebo-controlled, double-blind, randomized clinical trial performed on 90 patients with AD.
