Résumé
Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) syndrome can cause pain and difficulty with sexual activity. Arthroscopic treatment of FAI can improve a patient's sexual health, as seen by improvement in patient reported outcomes (PROs). This correlates with improved quality of life scores. Sexual function scores improve for both males and females after surgery, but female improvement is greater, most likely because female sexual positioning may involve more flexion, abduction, and rotation than males. Reviewing patient PROs can help provide context for the treating surgeon for discussion both preoperatively and postoperatively.
