Endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) have been suggested to contribute to the neovascularization of infantile haemangioma (IH). There is strong evidence of the efficacy of propranolol in the treatment of IH, possibly by inhibiting both vasculogenesis and angiogenesis in the tumour.
