James R. Reed is a clinical assistant professor of nurse anesthesia at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. A lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army, he retired after serving over 27 years, the last 10 of which were spent providing combat surgical support to U.S. and coalition special operations forces as part of an elite special operations surgical team.
