Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers are widely used in the diagnosis of dementia. Even though there is a causal correlation between apolipoprotein E ( APOE) genotype and amyloid-beta (Aβ), the determination of APOE is currently not supported by national or international guidelines.
