A colorless oily residue was always obtained when solutions of the title compound were taken to dryness above room temperature.
The compound undergoes trans-esterification in CH3OH or CD3OD (vide infra).
Despite different colors in the solid state, IR and 1H NMR ([D6]DMSO) spectra of products obtained by the two procedures (cis-[PtCl2(κS-DMSO)2]/L and K2[PtCl4]/L) were identical. They both gave yellow solutions in DMSO.
