This invited Team Profile was created by the McClements and the Wen groups, Institute for Biomedical Materials and Devices, Faculty of Science, University of Technology Sydney (Australia); and the Kaitu'u-Lino/Hannan groups, Mercy Hospital for Women, the University of Melbourne (Australia). They recently published an article on the development and validation of the first-in-class point-of-care assay for preeclampsia diagnosis. This assay can detect and quantify the concentration of FKBPL and CD44 proteins in human plasma in 15 minutes with high sensitivity and specificity enabling timely diagnosis of early-onset preeclampsia.
