Dysregulation of both tubulin deacetylases sirtuin 2 (Sirt2) and the histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) has been associated with the pathogenesis of cancer and neurodegeneration, thus making these two enzymes promising targets for pharmaceutical intervention.
