Relatively few viruses infecting haloarchaea (haloviruses) have been reported. In this study, the genome sequence of VOLN27B, a recently described archaeal tailed virus (arTV) with a myovirus morphotype was described, along with the sequence of its host, Halorubrum spp. LN27.
